Why acupuncture?

Veterinary Acupuncture parallels the same principles as that for humans. The goal is to target specific acu-points on the body that open the Qi channels which allows for release of endorphins, serotonin and other neurotransmitters to improve mood, increase function and decrease pain. This is a non-invasive, holistic way to improve your pet’s quality of life

who can do veterinary acupuncture?

Only veterinarians that have undergone EXTENSIVE training get certified in veterinary acupuncture. Dr. Mullen has been certified by the Chi Institute completing over 200 hours of classroom education and hands on certification, 5 separate classroom weekends with examinations and a 30 hour internship with a credentialed acupuncturist to gain her credentials. Dr. Mullen is always happiest when a pet that came in feeling poorly, saunters out with a tail wag.

Which conditions can benefit from acupuncture?

Any disease process that disrupts the body’s natural balance (homeostasis) can be helped with acupuncture. The list includes, but is not limited to: Arthritis, Disc Disease, GI Upset (vomiting or diarrhea), pain in any part of the body, urinary infections, cancer and post surgical discomfort.
